Together with the Maynilad Travel and Tours, we were able to experience this one of a kind trip. They were able to make our trip successful they truly played an important role during our trip.

Day 1

Today, I went to company visit to…
DOST Bicutan (Science Technology Information Institute) and Traffic Engineering (MMDA), EDSA, Makati

What I Learned?
From the airport we directly went to DOST or the Department of Science and Technology is a Philippine institution that is responsible for the managing the science related projects in the Philippines. In support to the national development, it also helps formulate procedures and plans connected to science and technology. The Department Executive is Dr. Mario Montejo. He was appointed by the President himself last June 29, 2010. Dr. Mario is responsible together with his team for the featured slides and waves at the water amusement park Water Fun using Filipino technology. Department of Science and Technology have child agencies. One of which is the PAGASA or Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Administration which is a Philippine institution that is responsible to provide warnings in flood, typhoon, weather forecasts and advisories. PHILVOCS or Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology is also part of DOST it monitors the activities of the volcanoes, earthquake and tsunamis and PSHS or Philippine Science High School Systems which focused in public high school system in the Philippine  that operates as an attached agency of the DOST. In other words, this institution gives data and services for the protection and developing the life and property for the productivity of our country.
After taking our lunch, we went to MMDA or Metropolitan Manila Development Authority. It’s a Philippine Institute that aims to unite the cities of Metro Manila. In addition, MMDA plans, monitors and has a coordinative functions that supervise the Metro Manila. The MMDA office is located Epifanio Delos Santo Avenue corner Orense Street, Guadalupe Nuevo, Makati, Philippines.

What I Liked?
In DOST, I liked it when the IT experts shared their skills to us and gave us some inspirational messages that will help us developing our skills for our future. I also loved them for welcoming us it was fun.
In MMDA, I liked it when the officers in-charge really explains their functions and for giving us warm welcome.

What I didn’t like?
Honestly, in DOST I don’t like the place especially the hall because it was creepy like it’s unused for several years.
In MMDA, I don’t like the place because compared to PSSCC it was crowded and unsecured place.

He also tackled the history of animation and some part of it was already discussed by our multimedia teacher which was ma’am Maui. In the afternoon, we moved to the UP Theater. I also learned new things like the devices used in ABS-CBN because they’ve invited a speaker from ABS-CBN.

Day 3

Today, I went to company visit to…
PLDT, Mandaluyong City and Social Security System, East Ave., QC

What I Learned?
I’ve learned so many things in PLDT. The officer in-charge thoroughly explained and introduced us the meaning of PLDT and its functionalities. I laso learned that Mr. Manuel “Manny” Pangilinanan is the chairman of the board. The speaker toured us in the innolab and tackled the history of PLDT like the “Age of Birth”, “Age of Destruction”, “Age of Hope”, “Age of Change”, “Age of Control”, “Age of Revolution”, “Age of Gatekeeper” and  “Age of Transformation”. I also learned that telecommunications came from two words, Tele means distant and Communications which means exchange data/Info.
After PLDT, we went to SSS or Social Security System in Quezon City. It is social insurance program for workers in the Philippines. I also learned that it provides retirement and health benefits to all enrolled employees in the Philippines. Members of the SSS can also make 'salary' or 'calamity' loans. Salary loans depend on the monthly salary of the employee. Calamity loans are for such times when there is a calamity that has been so declared by the government, in the area where the SSS member lives, such as flooding, earthquake and other acts of God.

What I Liked?
In PLDT I liked their facilities and I want to work there. I liked it when they’ve toured us and I loved their business solutions because I’ve tried their products and it was awesome.

In SSS, I liked it when one of the officer said that they liked us because we’re very attentive and they’ve observe that we’re interested and eager to learned about their functionalities.

What I didn’t like?

In PLDT, I don’t like when they don’t allow us to take some pictures for documentation.
In SSS, I don’t like it when they weren’t able to give me a ballpen because I was able to ask questions and they’ve said that they will give a prize.
