You became mine and I became yours

I love looking back and thinking of the way we’ve met and how it all started as text mates to heart mates. It’s kinda weird that I don’t really notice you before. If I’m not mistaken, I’ve first met you during our PSITS day at Jose Maria College, you were just a stranger guy who wants to take a picture with me until we became friends during our filing of candidacy as officers of our college.  We’re not that close that time, it’s just a typical friend like “Hi!”, “Hello”. I don’t know where did you find my digits until you’ve texted me with a ‘hi’ then I replied and so on. I really can’t imagine how much load we’ve loaded for two years and until now that we’re together, just to keep in touch with each other. But I don’t think that we were wasting our time and load because it’s all worth it. Yes, I can say that I have a lot of text mates before but you really are different among them. I don’t know but every time we are texting there’s no expiration in terms of topics even if it is super duper nonsense I am still happy. Even if I told you before that you were just like my brother you were still able to stay and never leave me hanging. A lot of my friends told me before that I am your crush but I don’t really took it seriously because I am not that open about it before and it was so korny for me. Also, some people would say that you were just making “Jamming” that I should not believe you because you’re chickboy. But as the time goes by, I have known you better and you’ve proved me that they were
wrong. Yes, you’ve met a lot of girls before but as what you’ve told me you’ve met them because I told you that you were just a friend or a brother to me and I ate all my words. Haaay!

It’s been 9 months since we’re together as a couple and forever to go. Yeah! I know were too young to talk about forever but that’s what it really feels like. I am so thankful knowing that you are always there for me. Thank you so much bi for your never-ending love, care and support in everything. I was not expecting that God will give me this too much and I am very lucky to have not just a boyfriend but also a best friend. I am very happy to have you Sherwin. I really like it that we don’t need too much effort to make us happy every day, because we know that our love is deep and strong enough that just having each other means everything. When I’m down you are always there to cheer me up and be on track. When I commit mistakes or errors you still stand beside me. When I’ve annoyed and hurt you, you still don’t leave me without a goodnight kiss and a hug. I love you Sherwin! I’m soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lucky that every time I make a mistake you’re always there to forgive me even if I have not apologized yet. Thank you for taking care of my heart as I do. Don’t change bi. Thank you for being my inspiration! Mwah! XOXOXOXOXOXO

Difficulties that I’ve experienced are nothing to the outpouring blessings!

It’s been a great year and I’m thankful for all of the countless blessings God has bestowed upon me, blessings that I really thought impossible to experience. Also, I’m thankful for all the difficulties that i've encountered because it helped me understand things and taken off my rough edges and allowed me to place a deeper trust in HIS promises. MORE BLESSINGS TO COME! HAPPY NEW YEAR! =DD

Dark Curtain

Every individual has a problem. Some may smile just to keep their true feelings but the reality is that they’re suffering from despondency and think that they can’t surpass everything. Is it possible to feel great despite all the challenges that we encounter?  Where every day we experience new crisis especially in today’s world?

Well, as a Filipino we are very good in keeping our feelings and letting other people think that we are fine. Let us just be positive despite our gloomy feeling. Instead of feeling down and thinking about it almost every day, let’s help each other and envisage solutions or create bridges to uplift our lives and believe that no matter how incomprehensible our  life may be… behind the dark curtain there lies a hidden lesson. =)

Eagle Eye (Minor Fieldtrip at PSSCC)

Field Trip Overview:

Minor Field trip is part of our subject FTS or Fieldtrip and Seminars. We were very happy because we had the opportunity to visit PSCC or Public Safety Command Center in Davao City. PSCC is a government institution in Davao City that gives information to monitor the accidents and floods in Davao. A camera is installed in the different traffic lights in the city.  PSCC gives us warm welcome and showed us their technologies.
Davao City is considered as the nerve center of the Southern Philippines in the Mindanao Region. Mayor Sara Duterte together with her constituents aims to have a smarter city. That’s why she was able to collaborate with IBM to contribute to the City’s vision to be a premier socio-economic tourism in Mindanao. Also, to and enhance the management of Davao’s four pillars of public safety: crime prevention and suppression; emergency response; threat prevention and response; and traffic management.

Activity
What I learned?
`           I learned that in Davao City there are many cameras installed in every intersection in Davao City. From that, I am now aware of j-walking and I should follow the rules and regulation of Davao City to have a smarter City.
What I like?
I like it that Davao City improved in terms of security because as we all know Davao City is prone to bomb threats. I like their technologies because compared to MMDA, PSCC is very different because of their high-tech technologies.

What I didn’t like?

I didn’t like the videos that they’ve showed us. It’s about the accidents happened in the city.

Recommendations

I recommend that the next batch will have their minor fieldtrip in PSSCC because it was very informative and you can really learn new things. I also suggest that they will have an interpersonal skill like ours because we know each other and even if they will assign us to other groups we are still comfortable.

An Escape from HELL (Major Field Trip in Manila)

Field Trip Overview:

Field trip and Seminars or FTS is part of our curriculum and as a BSIT and BSCS students we should be exposed on the technologies existing not just in Davao City which helps us to be aware of the trends and latest technologies for us to develop our character and intellect as well as to inspire us students by keeping ourselves on track, finish the race and to be successful in our chosen field.

I also learned that it provides retirement and health benefits to all enrolled employees in the Philippines. Members of the SSS can also make 'salary' or 'calamity' loans. Salary loans depend on the monthly salary of the employee. no longer a teenager

Two decades old. 240 months old. 7300 days old. 175,200 hours old. 10,512,000 minutes old. 630,720,000 seconds old. O Yeah! Now that I’m starting my twenties *chos! Seriously?!!* well… will I discover what I really want? Or will I be horribly disillusioned. *I don’t think so* I’m still chill and OPTIMISTIC.

A lot has changed since then... but I still enjoy the same silly things.I suppose there will have to be a time when I’ll have to stop acting so childish and bouncy. Or maybe not, who knows?*parang kalian lang* well… from a little boyish girl to a… secreeeet baka maspread! =D Anyway, I am no longer a teenager, which is a nice feeling... somehow... growing up isn't so bad, because at the very least, you can always take the things you love with you. OKAY! Some much for that... I bid goodbye to my teen years. I’m hoping and I am praying for more decades to come!

True Essence of Entrepreneurship

In our previous discussions, I have learned countless things about entrepreneur, how to be a successful entrepreneur, how to deal with other people, how to start a business, where to start and the things to be considered. But what have made my mind cause a stir on dealing with this kind of situation are the ideas coming from the tycoons of technopreneurship or the premiere technopreneurs that really gave a mark to the world. In our past meeting our teacher introduced this video "Pirates of the Silicon Valley". From that movie I have known the two idols in this generation. I am talking to Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. And now, our teacher let us watch this video about GUY KAWASAKI where he had a talk about what are the things to be consider when starting up a business. His talk was about "How to make meaning" and I would like to share this video especially to those people who are inclined in entrepreneurship. It's a 2 minutes and 52 seconds that talks about the real core of entrepreneurship. I am very lucky to watch a talk given by GUY KAWASAKI to the Stanford Technology Ventures Program in Stanford University (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQs6IpJQWXc)

Who is GUY KAWASAKI?

Guy Kawasaki is an extraordinary man that made a name at Apple in 1980's as the evangelist who helped launch the Macintosh Computer. He is a Silicon Valley venture capitalist. He is the founder and a CEO of Garage Technology Ventures and he has tested and proven his ideas to those start up companies.

Now back to his lecture, he talks about the true essence of entrepreneurship, which is basically about making meaning. According to him "If you make meaning, you will probably make money. But if you set out to make money, you will probably not make meaning and you won’t make money." I believe all of us want to start our own business depending on our passion. It is a very important that we should have a proper idea of how to become a good entrepreneur and most especially we should have right reasons for starting a business not just to earn money. After watching this short video, I feel very lucky and I have learned a lot from him. What I like about this video is that it is very short but it is very meaningful. I can see that he really loves what he is doing, no doubt that he is a successful technopreneur.

Make meaning I think what he meant is that you have to really identify or understand your purpose on starting a business. These are so many questions to be considered like do you love what you are doing? Is that your passion? Does it contribute to our society? Is it helpful? I believe that most of us start to build companies to make money. But according to Guy Kawasaki if one starts a business just to make money, the result is that he will not be successful. He wants to tell us that if we want to start a business we should make meaning, like, "I start a business because I love what I am doing and I want to develop my passion" or "I will build a business because I want to help my society" By that, he gives meaning to the world and I am sure that he might as well make money out of it. He also noticed that from the big businesses in this generation, those companies who have succeeded are those businesses that make meaning.

Guy Kawasaki also mentioned the 3 ways to make meaning. The first one is to increase the quality of life. Second, is to right a wrong and last is to prevent the end of something good.

 Increase the quality of life

According to him if you want to start a business you must think how will you improve or uplift you life. How will you increase the quality of your life and what are the factors to make this realization come true. I can say that great innovations from the past greatly increased the quality of people's life, like for example, cell phones. What's weird from the past is normal today. Anyway, cell phone is a good example of increasing the quality of our life. Can you imagine yourself without cell phone nowadays? Make sense?

Right a wrong

All of us will experience or will see some difficulties in life to the point that some people will commit suicide because they think that it is the end of the world and because they think that they can't fix their problems. But, according to Guy Kawasaki if you will find something wrong with the world then you must fix it. And I totally agree to his principle. Let's correct every mistake that we've made and let's take it as a challenge. If you think that your businesses is the solution for a certain problem then push it through as long as you are doing right. In connection to technologies like computers, if virus enters your computer, it is probably a problem, a big problem, because it can affect your files. That's why experts come up with an idea to make an anti-virus which really helps the society. Thanks to them! Anyway, a wrong will be always be wrong unless someone will correct it.

Prevent the end of something good

In this present era, we slowly feel that the world changes like for example, computers. We can say that nowadays computer is something good and it has a big contribution to the world. It really made life more convenient than before. That's why experts will really find an idea to prevent it from being destroyed or to prolong its life and its legacy as well. That's why I really agree to what Guy Kawasaki said that we should prevent the end of something good. If we find something good, I believe that we don't want it to end. So, let's do something to prevent that end now that we have Mr. Google nothing is impossible.

"The goal is to change the world... if you do that, maybe you’ll be a legend.” Guy said. If we want to start a business we should think if your business will improve the quality of our lives, touch other lives or something that will definitely change the world. But before changing the world, you should first change yourself and make a meaning. I can really say that Guy Kawasaki is truly is a great man and a successful technopreneur in his generation same with Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. I really admire them.

Starting up a business can be hard, especially if one is clueless at all and don't know where to start. But I think that if you will listen to those successful technopreneurs this will definitely lead you to success because they have experienced those kinds of situations and they already know the do's and don’ts and of course as long as you love what you are doing and you have the passion and the determination you will truly be successful. And if the lessons we've learned from Guy Kawasaki, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates will be integrated in making a business you will surely achieve your goals in life. Just believe in yourself!
